This image was taken in the fall of 2006 from the "Split Rock Viewpoint" on the top of the Malahat Highway. I went there in the dark a number of times hoping for a nice sunrise and a clear view of Mount Baker in the background...a rare occurance. Finally one morning it all came together. You can see the sun just peeking over the cone of Mount Baker. Saanich Inlet is in the foreground and the Gulf Islands run through the middle of the image. The valley fog on the Saanich Peninsula adds a nice look.
