This image was taken in the spring of 2006. We were up in the trees shooting from a blind near a Heron Rookery. This young Heron Landed in the top of a Gary Oak tree nearby. He is preening and is unaware that we are close by. Gary Oaks are found predominately on Vancouver Island.
