This image was taken in 2003. I went to Cowichan Bay before sun up. The tide was low and as the sun came up I noticed a Great Blue Heron fishing in the shallows in the eel grass. He was a great fisherman...he caught several fish inside a half hour. The green strip around his neck is a piece of eel grass. Crabs and small fish like to live in around eel grass.
